The US State Department ended a USAID initiative that allocated hundreds of millions of dollars to helping Ukraine restore its war-damaged energy grid, NBC News reported, citing two unnamed USAID officials who work on the agency's Ukraine mission.
The sources also said that USAID staffing levels in Ukraine will fall to 8 from the previous level of 64 under cuts by the administration of President Donald Trump, which has ordered all workers not deemed "critical" to return to the US.
