Ukraine has introduced an Urban Planning Cadaster Administration at the national level to coordinate urban planning processes and information nationwide, the Ministry of Restoration said in a press release on Wednesday.
"This is an important step in the digitalization of the country and the creation of a modern system for managing processes in the field of urban development," the ministry said.
The new state enterprise, which is expected to coordinate information on land use, infrastructure, zoning and other details for the reconstruction of Ukraine, will also administer the Unified State Electronic System in the Field of Construction and the Unified State Register of Addresses.
The work of the administrator is expected to increase transparency in urban planning, develop the digital economy, and improve conditions for investors, according to the ministry.
Cadasters in Ukraine have so far existed only in some local governments, with most urban planning documentation being in paper form, the country's Ministry of Statistics noted earlier, as reported by UNN.
