Ukraine Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said geopolitical tensions elsewhere in the world and the length of the war in Russia are weakening the resolve of Ukraine's major donor nations, Reuters reported.
"I see a lot of tiredness, I see a lot of weakness among our partners, they would like to forget about the war but the war is still ongoing, full-scale," Marchenko told Reuters on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank meetings in Marrakech.
The startling outbreak of violence in Gaza, plus the elections scheduled for the US and the European Union next year are distracting donors and forcing Ukraine to expend "twice the effort" to persuade donors to continue their support, Marchenko said.
He attributed the difficulties to "a geopolitical shift and internal political context in different countries."
