The use of explosive weapons in southern regions of Ukraine have caused significant environmental degradation, according to a study by the Conflict and Environment Observatory (CEOBS) and Norwegian People's Aid (NPA).
The study assessed two areas in the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions using a combination of remote sensing, field sampling, and community interviews. Soil and water samples were collected from accessible locations that were low-risk, while satellite imagery and open-source data were used for remote analyses.
