Polish energy firm Orlen said it has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Ukraine's oil and gas company Naftogaz on March 7, outlining terms of their partnership in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector.

As part of the memorandum, the companies also signed a contract to supply about 100 million cubic metres of gas to Ukraine. The gas will come from an LNG cargo delivered to Klaipėda, Lithuania, then will be transported via the GIPL pipeline through Poland to the Drozdowicze interconnector, where Naftogaz will receive it.
