Ukraine has made more progress in fighting corruption in the past 10 years than in the previous 23 years of independence combined, with gains spurred by hopes to join the European Union, Transparency International Ukraine experts conclude in a new report, prepared with Polish NGO Stefan Batory Foundation.
However, the report, issued Wednesday, also calls on the authorities to pass a series of laws and regulations to increase transparency in public procurement, deepen cooperation with civil society organizations and strengthen state auditing processes.
