EBRD mulls lending Ukrainian grocery store chain Vrus $25 million to expand retail operations

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said it is considering providing a $25 million multicurrency senior long-term loan to Ukrainian grocery store chain Varus Group to expand its retail operations in the country.

The financing would help Varus boost employment opportunities for people with disabilities and other war-affected groups, while also mitigating risks of maintenance of local food supply in the country, the EBRD said.
